About this Painting
One evening, as I pondered what to paint next, my thoughts turned to the Savior’s sacrifice. I felt impressed to paint this piece, even though I was nervous about it. I had never painted anything centered on Christ’s suffering before, and I wasn’t sure if I could do such a sacred moment justice. It was a heavy painting for me to create, but I knew God wanted me to paint it when I did.
As I worked, I found myself reflecting on the Savior’s final moments before His crucifixion. I imagined a quiet moment where He looked ahead, fully aware of what He would endure. Though wounded and suffering, His eyes reflect His unwavering love, His acceptance of the Father’s will, and the quiet strength that carried Him to the very end.
When you look at this painting, remember that every wound He bore was an expression of His love for you. Because of His sacrifice, we have hope, healing, forgiveness, and the promise that no trial is ever faced alone.
