About this Painting

There was a season in my life when I felt weighed down by burdens I wasn't sure I could carry. Painting became one of the ways I found hope again, and Chains was born from that journey.

This painting represents the struggles we all carry. Whether our chains are forged from abuse, betrayal, anxiety, depression, fear, grief, or countless other trials, none of us walk through life without them. Some chains are old and weathered. Others are fresh and painfully heavy. Yet each one has the potential to shape us into someone stronger.

As I painted this woman standing firmly beneath the weight of her chains, I was reminded that our trials do not define us—they refine us. Through the love of family, faithful friends, counseling, prayer, scripture, and above all the healing power of Jesus Christ, I began to see that the very things I once wished away had taught me resilience, compassion, and faith.

When you look at this painting, I hope you remember that your chains are not the end of your story. The Savior knows every burden you carry, and through Him, even the heaviest chains can become a witness of your strength.
