About this Painting

I painted this piece imagining what it might feel like to experience the first day of resurrection. Mortality has passed. The pain, limitations, and struggles of this life are behind her, and she can finally breathe in the freedom of knowing that she has been made whole.

The scriptures promise us that death is not the end. Because of Jesus Christ, resurrection is a gift promised to all of God's children, and there is so much more waiting for us beyond this life. I wanted her expression to capture that moment of relief, peace, and overwhelming gratitude as she steps into eternity.

First Day of Resurrection represents one of the greatest sources of hope in my faith: God's plan does not end with mortality. He has promised us life again, the opportunity to live forever, and the possibility of exaltation through Jesus Christ.

When you see this painting, I hope you feel hope for what lies ahead. There will come a day when mortality is behind us, what was broken can be made whole, and we will understand more fully just how beautiful God's plan has been all along.
