About this Painting
After taking a short break from painting during the month of July, I felt inspired to pick up my brushes again and paint the Savior. This time, I wanted to approach the piece differently. Rather than focusing on a specific story or event from His life, I wanted to experiment with watercolor itself.
The flowing blue robe became the heart of this painting. I spent more time on it than any other part, allowing the paint to move freely and embracing the loose, expressive qualities that make watercolor so beautiful. Although we each have our own idea of what Jesus may have worn, I wanted to portray Him in a way that felt vibrant, peaceful, and uniquely my own.
When you look at this painting, I hope you see more than color and brushstrokes. I hope you're reminded that Christ is constant through every season of our lives, and that even the simplest moments of inspiration can become something beautiful.
